Editor-in-Chief, UA: Ukraine Analytica
Dr. Hanna Shelest is the editor-in-chief of UA: Ukraine Analytica and Member of the Board at the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism". Previously worked as a Senior Researcher at the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of Ukraine, Odessa Branch, where she has been working since 2004. She has a PhD in International Relations (thesis topic “Institute of Mediation in the Process of the Peace Settlement of Military Conflicts) from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences.
Her main research interests are conflicts resolution, security and cooperation, especially in the Wider Black Sea Region and the Middle East, foreign policy of Ukraine; unrecognized states. She has more than 40 academic and more than 100 articles in media published in Ukraine, Russia, Moldova, Georgia, Sweden, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Switzerland, the USA, the UK and Romania. She has a past experience as a journalist, PR consultant for the government and business, and as a lecturer in International Relations. Dr. Shelest is an Affiliated Associated Professor at University of Alaska Anchorage.
Dr. Shelest is a Rotary Peace Fellow 2010, Black Sea Young Reformer 2011, John Smith Fellow 2012 and Women in Public Service Project Alumna 2013 and Marshall Memorial Fellow 2016.
