Hrant Kostanyan

Dr. Hrant Kostanyan is a Researcher at CEPS ‘Europe in the World’ unit, a Senior Key Expert at the College of hrant-konst1Europe Natolin and an Associate Fellow at the Centre for EU Studies (CEUS) in the department of Political Science at Ghent University. His research focuses on EU institutions and decision-making, primarily on the European External Action Service (EEAS), the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and the EU’s relations with Eastern Neighbours and Russia. Hrant Kostanyan has taught courses on European Union decision-making and inter-institutional relations, as well as the EU’s relations with the post-Soviet space in the ‘EU Studies’ master programme, and has extensive experience in conference speaking and giving guest lectures and training for bureaucrats, diplomats, and members of academia and civil society.

Hrant Kostanyan has worked as a senior expert in a number of the EU projects related to reforming public administration, communications, the European Neighbourhood Policy, the Eastern Partnership and Russia. He works frequently with international and local media to provide journalists with quotes and background information on issues related to the EU external action, decision-making, policies and politics.

Dr. Kostanyan is a reviewer and member of the editorial boards of a number of academic journals as well as a co-editor of CEPS European Neighbourhood Watch monthly newsletter. He has published extensively on EU decision-making and external policies.
