President, Center for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning
Iulian Chifu is currently President of the Center for Conflict Prevention and Early Warning. Prior to that he was a Counsellor to the President of Romania within the Strategic Affairs, Security and Foreign Policy Department. In 2000, he became professor at the International Relations Department from National School of Political and Administrative Studies, specialised in Conflict Analysis and Decision Making a position he is still holding today. He acted as a Scientific Secretary of the Department from 2001 to 2007.
From 2003 to 2011, he was the director of Conflict Prevention and Early Warning Centre that he founded, an NGO specialised in research in International Relations.
From 2006 until 2011 he was the advisor for foreign policy, security and defence to the Vice-president of the Senate, and he served under five vicepresidents.
In 2010, he became a member of the Advisory Board of the European Centre for Energy and Resource Security, at King's College in London and from 2007, Mr. Chifu is member of Team Europe - Association of European Business, European Commission Delegation in Bucharest.
Since 2011, he is a member of the Scientific Board of the Security Studies and Defence Information journal “Infosfera”. Mr. Chifu is a reviewer specialist in International Relations, European Integration, Decision in Crisis, Conflict Analysis of Ashgate Publishing ltd.
