Charges d’Affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania
Mr. Kaliev Talgat Gabdullovich, Ph. D. in History, is currently the Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania and the Director of the Europe and America Department (MFA), previously working as Chairman of the Committee for Foreign Policy Analysis and Planning. He was a student of the Faculty of History Kirov Kazakh State University and started his first steps to a career as an intern of the Institute of International
Labor Movement Sciences of the USSR (Moscow). In 1992 he joined the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies, being a Senior Researcher under the President of Kazakhstan. He continued his professional activity as a second Secretary of the Office of International Security MFA for one year and in 1994 became the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Turkey. Mr. Kaliev was the head of Asian Security MFA and also worked as a first Secretary of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the UK and the United States. Between 2003 and 2007 he was Counsellor and Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the United States and two years later he became Advisor to the Minister.
Mr. Kaliev was born in Kazakhstan, Alma-Ata being married with three children.
